Tattered Floral Die Challenge

I'm back!
The longer I stayed away the harder it was for me to return.
However, if anything was going to get me back it was Tim Holtz -
and the latest challenge on his blog.

The challenge is to create something, anything with the
Tattered Floral bigz die by Tim Holtz/Alterations/Sizzix.

I've used this die many times but wanted to try something
different - so opted for Shrink Plastic.

Once I'd shrunk the flowers with my heat gun,
I coloured them with alcohol ink and glitzed them up
a bit with sparkle mod podge.

Here's a close up of a flower showing the subtle sparkle.

As the colour was quite translucent on the shrunk plastic,
I had to paint the back with white acrylic and edged them
with a Distress Marker Pen in Victorian Velvet
which is quite a good colour match
for the Pink Sherbert Alcohol Ink.

I decided to make a ring .....

....... and a matching elasticated charm bracelet.

I think the round Rose Quartz beads are a good
contrast for the bright flowers.
In the centre of the double flowers is a little
Amethyst chip.

The challenge ends 22nd March.

Pink plastic jewellery, who'd have thought it!
