A Compendium of Curiosities 2 - Challenge No. 1 - Custom Foam Stamp

I'm following the challenges being set by the lovely Linda
on her blog Studio L3 working from Tim Holtz' new book
A Compendium of Curiosities Volume II

The first challenge is to create something by using the
technique on page 66 of the book
whereby we had to create our own 'Custom Foam Stamp'

I used my favourite Sizzix Bigz die to create my stamp
'Sewing Room' by Tim Holtz/Alterations range.

I made this rather messy double page spread in
a book which I'm currently altering using a sewing theme.
I stamped the dress form on each page using
acrylic paint, then distressed inked through some sequin waste.

This first challenge is being sponsored by
who will give a $25 gift certificate to one randomly-chosen
participant in this week's challenge - how generous is that!

I'm hoping to join in with more of Linda's challenges
as it makes me actually use the book rather than just having
it sitting on my desk looking pretty or should that be grungy - lol!

Wonder which techinque will be next!

I don't know what your first photo is of, Im guessing Tims book, as it wouldn't show up for me! I love the stamp you have made, I made one just like that last year! The page you have done is wonderful, the stamp came out brilliantly and love the background with the sequin waste. x

I love your entry too! I so must get around to an altered book - I sort of started one once (I splodged some paint on a few pages in a music book!) but have since it lost it and my enthusiasm for it! Thanks for commenting on my tag - I can't wait until Friday now either!

Like the thread of your threads in the altered book - very nice indeed!
I had to really think hard about the design of the bin (my brain still hasn't recovered...)because the inside has a circular bottom but the outside has gathered elastic so it can be removed to be washed. My proudest boast is that I didn't have to undo any seams at all!! LOL
Hugs, LLJ #7 xx
