Putting on the Glitz - An Altered Matchbox

Altering matchboxes is not one of my favourite things - that's why I altered 25 for the swap last Christmas and that's why I've just joined a new matchbox swap group - go figure!!!

I think it must be a kind of addiction, I don't want to do them, but can't stop myself - lol.

The new group is over on Flickr called

The first swap is 'Gold and Glamour' - makes a change from my usual dowdy and vintage - not that's there's anything wrong with dowdy and vintage, but this is something different which is quite refreshing.

The matchbox I covered with Tim Holtz tissue tape and rubbed over some gold cream paste.  The centrepiece is a painted gold clay mannequin with a corset of gold Beadazzles (stuck on with Glossy Accents).  The wings are a gold embossed fabric die cut - again Tim Holtz (Sizzix Alterations 'Heart Wings').

I brighted up the sides with some tiny mirrors tiles and beads so it has quite a bit of sparkle to it!

The back is just covered with the tissue tape and coloured with the gold rub on paste.

The inside drawer has also been covered with Tissue Tape and coloured gold.  The outside of the drawer has been painted with gold acrylic and a few gold beads added.

So what's inside?  Some gold fabric stars and an altered scrabble tile charm.

We were supposed to use a glamourous image of some kind and mine can be found on the front of the scrabble tile charm.

It's a Gustav Klimt image - from an old calendar.  The image has been attached to the scrabble tile with glue then covered with ultra thick embossing enamel so is nice and shiny - all adding to the glamour I hope.

Partners for the swap will be announced in a couple of days time - can't wait to see who I get!

Just a fabulous box, Sherry! Whoever gets it is very fortunate. But I know most of the people in the group - and believe me, EVERYONE will be happy with what they get! It will be such fun to learn from each other.

I am literally drooling here! How can you bear to let it go?

Just adore the Klimt image inside and everything, EVERYTHING about the outsdie. Wow, Wow, WOW!

I keep saying I don't need any of those alterations but think you may have sold me on those wings - I'm blaming you TOTALLY!

Now am going to do what I came here for and check out your WOYWW before I got distracted by pretties.
