A little bit of Goth meets Floral for SDC #190

I made this little fabric collage for a blog challenge -
the challenge was to use stitches - of any sort
in our makes.

I decided to use sewing machine stitches -
here's what my plan of action looked like!

As a starting point I used this  'inspiration pack'
I bought a few years ago and found again recently
at the back of my craft cupboard.

I used an old cotton hankerchief to work on,
and the 'Prom Queen' stamp by Stampotique.

For the background I used these Distress Ink pads.

Here are some close ups

She wasn't originally going to have a crown, but
I made a bit of a hole in the fabric and needed
to repair it!
Her eyes are sequins and beads.

I enjoyed making the flowers and practising (my version of)
the free motion sewing machine stitching.
The base is some jute (from the Pound Shop!)

Want to see the back?

This was obviously before I added the buttons
and jute base.

She looks a bit of a droopy drawers doesn't she!
I hope she'll find her Prince at the Prom Ball
- she looks a bit miserable at the moment!

Thanks for looking & happy stitching!

I can see hangy threads so I'm a happy bunny. Love the colours and the scrap of material. Hugs MrsA.

Oh wow, it's wonderful - so full of character and creativity and the stitching is fab (not one of my strengths!). I hope you have someone good to hang it so that everyone can see her. Jx
