Our World Our Art

http://awhimsicalbohemian.typepad.com/a_whimsical_bohemian/what-you-need-to-know-.html

To find out all the information about this
‘International Blogwide Artistic Event’
please click on the photo above and you’ll be taken
to the creator/host - Lisa Swifka’s blog
who explains beautifully everything you need to know.

Hello and welcome to my simple blog!
My name is Sherry and I live just outside London in England (UK)
with my husband John and our two kitties Lily and Leo.

In short, I just love to craft!
I’ve tried loads of different things over the years,
bought far too many supplies and no doubt
will continue to do so (funds permitting!).
My favourite place to be is in my craft room -
why wouldn’t it be - if you're reading this you'll
know exactly what I mean!

My ‘artistic passion’ is anything mixed media
or Tim Holtz related - could I be more vague!
Whatever new I try I always seem to return to
what I love the best .....

I love making paper dolls with clay faces.
I’m not talented enough to sculpt the faces myself
so instead use little moulds.
Here are a few of my dolls, past and present.

If you'd like to see more of my dolls click on the
logo below to go to my Etsy shop
https://www.etsy.com/uk/shop/GemstonePaperDolls?ref=si_shop
(I'm new to Etsy and selling my things so there isn't that
much in the shop yet)

Gift Giveaway

Now, every good ’International Blogwide Artistic Event’
should have a giveaway don’t you think?
Well, I have two of my dolls to give away -
made especially for this event.

Meet Victoria & Elizabeth

Gift Giveaway No. 1

Victoria aka Vicky

Gift Giveaway No. 2
 Elizabeth aka Lizzy

Both dolls have bodies hand cut from card
and backed with scrapbook paper.
Moulded clay faces and yarn for hair.
Their limbs are attached with brads so are moveable.
Their clothes are made in part from recycled old jeans of mine.

They have a loop at the back for hanging / displaying.

If you would like to enter my giveaways all you need to do
is leave me a comment (tell me which doll prefer)
and make sure there is a way I can contact you if you win.

These giveaways are open to all active bloggers worldwide
(whether or not you are participating in this event yourself)
and I will announce the winners (selected at random)

here on my blog on Friday 18th April at
12.00 midnight BST (British Summer Time).
(I will also email the winners, so please make sure
I can contact you in one way or another.)

That’s all folks, thanks for visiting me, I'll come to

visit your blog too and hope you enjoy this event.

Thanks to Lisa for creating and hosting this
wonderful worldwide event.

Lovely dolls! I'm not clever enough to sculpt either, and love using molds. Wonderful work, Sherry!

Your dolls are wonderful. I especially like Lizzie. I also really like the masquerade doll you showed above. Lovely! I have tried making some paper craft angels and have really enjoyed it but definitely need a lot more practice.

I am in love with your paper dolls Sherry. I am a lover of dolls in general, of all kinds of material, paper included, and these ladies are just stunning. I couldn't pick between the two, so I would leave it down to you to pick the perfect gal for me if I were to be lucky enough to win on. I can't wait to see what you new doll and craft creation will be.

Hello, Sherry
Nice to meet you!
Your paper dolls are so special! I adore your idea of using a mould for the faces. I too enjoy many various craft ideas, and have a well loved stock of supplies to create with.
I adore doll #2, please!

Hello Sherry!

Your dolls are so sweet- I'm a papercrafter myself, but haven't tried to sculpt anything dimensionally... YET! Perhaps I'll be brave and track down some molds and see where they take my own art!

Victoria is a brunette bombshell: I love that she is posable!

I do hope you'll visit me at Twigs and Tulle over the next few weeks!

Sherry, first let me say thank you so much for participating in OWOA. As I've said to others it's a slow go this year but that's ok. (bad host hasn't even posted her own yet {blushes})
Anyway......how cute are your paper dolls....so much personality and you have oodles of choices for outfits and style open to you!
I so get how it feels being in our creative spaces.

P.S. I love England and hope to visit there again one day.

Sherry, I never would have thought of combining clay faces with paper dolls . . . and this is why I love OWOA, and blog snooping in general! So many creative people to visit!

Happy OWOA to you!

I adore your dolls, Sherry. I am the proud owner of one already so I won't enter the draw, but I do rather like Lizzy's dungaree dress.

As usual Sherry your dolls are just fabulous, and it would be hard to choose. But as I never win anything anyway it's not a problem. When I have more time, I will investigate this blog event.

I have never seen paper dolls with clay faces! What fun. I have recently been introducing my 6 year old to paper dolls - one came in the back of a craft book I have and another a friend sent from a Graze box. She couldn't believe me when I said I used to make them and their clothes to play with when I was little.

Just loved your post and learning what makes you tick :) Gutted I missed the start of OWOA after waiting for it for so long but am so enjoying reading the posts anyway.

I love Vicky and if I won would give her to my daughter who seems to be starting a collection but certainly doesn't have a girl with a modelled face :)
