What's On Your Workdesk? Wednesday (week 70)

I'd love to see what's on yours and if you're playing along with Julia at her Stamping Ground hopefully I'll get around to having a look.

Here's what's on my desk today

Well, this was last night actually and I've since finished the tag which was for the challenge on Linda's Studio L3 blog where each week she sets a challenge from Tim Holtz 'Compendium of Curiosities' book.

As you can see I was working on a craft mat which is rather grungy with old alcohol ink stains that I've never cleaned off properly!

Here's a large plastic container (I can't remember what it had in it originally) that I keep my ink blending tools (I only have the two 'proper' ones) and foams in.  There's also a lot of make up wedges (sponges) in there too which are quite good for blending - although they're a bit on the soft side and there's a few shaving brushes for stippling in there too.

That's about it really, short and sweet this week (just like me!)

You'll notice there's not a matchbox in sight (thank goodness!!) - mine have now been posted off to the hostess of the swap.  If you'd like to see the finished 25 matchboxes in all their glory click here.

I'd better finish this post now so I can start my tour around all those wonderful workdesks linked to Julia's blog.

Happy Crafting one and all!

OOOH - Paris and purple - that cannot go wrong! Lovely tags - you'll have some fine coloured fingers tomorrow to explain...
Thanks for visiting me....I have an old typewriter which I used to type on my linen scrap. You can type on a bigger piece and then cut it out - which sounds more sensible - but for some mad reason I tend to prepare the scrap first and stick it on a post it-note and then run it through my typewriter - usually works. If you don't have a typewriter you can get little individual letter stamp sets from many craft stores for about £2 in a typewriter font. Failing that - generate it on your computer and print out on linen stuck to an A4 or use canvas photo paper.
Hope that al helps...

Maybe Michales we should forward some of these requests to their headquarters! lol

Love that tag - gorgeous! I only have two blending tools too but I prefer the old foam any day. Mine's just shoved in a plastic bag but I'm sure I have one of those bowls somewhere. What a good idea.

I love those inks and all the bits that go with them, only have two, and a bit of sponge left over from my 'face painting' days. When I first saw the brushes some time ago, I thought the lady had 'borrowed' her hubby's shaving brush! (which are quite hard to find these days)
Have a good day and thank you for your visit!

Did you think I had forgotten you? Did you think I wouldn't stop by to see your desk this week? Never! I had intended to visit anyone who left a comment, then it got me confused because some people didn't leave their numbers, so decided to go through the list anyway (grin). You can see how well my strategy worked by how late I got here!

Very nice tag. I like those colors together. I have one of those craft mats and I keep mine clean, but it still looks like yours. They simply wear over time.

Is the shaving brush stiff enough to blend? I really like the idea if it really works. And I bet they are cheaper than the actual stipple brushes.

Thanks for your lovely comment on Bleubeard and for liking the bigger photos. (Number 1 this week, as you know).

ooh - nice work on the desk! In answer to your question about what I do with all the little bits of ribbon? I don't have any. Storing my ribbon like that means I usually cut off exactly how much I need. Anything less than 2 inches long goes in the bin, anything more, well, guess I save it in my ribbon drawer. Yes, I forgot to mention I have one of those too!!! ROFL

Those tags are divine and thanks for the info on the stamps off to check them out. Beginning to think I was the only one who watched the prisoner (never did understand it).
